Definitely go with the QAD. I have one and they are absolutely awesome.

It looks like there is another slot in the rise further down for the TRG and String Oscillation Suppressor. Is what this is for, or is it for something else?

The QAD definitely works as I have it on my onza 3. You have to use the spacer that it comes with.
