Strings don't show abnormal wear, usually the serving comes apart, etc. and 4,000 is a conservative estimate. First string was the cheapo that came with it, then two B50's from a store, and now a FF...

Awesome. I have a #50. I use a NAP Centerest. I'm about on my 4-5 string, now using Fast Flight, and have put probably 4000+ arrows through it. I've kept it strung for over four years. :)
It should stretch about an inch or so after you break it in. Check Nordic Archers on Youtube, they have a review and mention that the string is like this.
