What I look for is the bow making listed max draw weight. At one time the industry standard was said to me (another company) that +/- 3/8" was a given tolerance. I have yet to find a bow that much...
Hey! Big Time Congrats! From retired Machine Specialist Grade IV...whatever that was ;)
10 yards off seems quite a bit. My first Shadowcat had the upper 1/3 riser shift, almost 1/8", but it stayed there and I had no issues. Even tried to buy the bow as is, but Martin wanted it...
Don't mean to beat it into the ground, but like I've said in other threads, correctly timed I've found nock setting is near zero, usually 1/16" high. And even today 1/8" high is acceptable - not me,...
Yes, but just saying if a rod can be bent for this then a offset rod can be made.
Just wondering how much one should be offset and then for marketing purposes leave the rod ends long with...
What?!!! Wrong direction?!!! Oh, yeah, I forgot you're from Indiana. ;)
Pretty sure Carlos has one of the first Shadowcats to come out. It has the more squarish riser grip. Later in 2010 Martin contoured the grip and it felt much nicer.
I had/have 3 of the Shadowcats,...
"I have experience tuning the nitro cams and i have to say i'm not impressed with them as far as reliability. not knocking them as they perform great but are a little tricky and you MUST keep your...
T8,
You skipped over some info.
Barry! Or someone speak up. Who was the one who made his own bent and angled guide rod? There were pictures of it. Or I've been working too hard on the flood...
Yep, just about what I figured. Just like the small shop I work at. This is a archery shop only, no side line stuff. Business super slow and slowly closing the doors, I've been working the last two...
T8, basically it's simplicity. Straight rods work for everything, just not all that perfect. I have the steel offset guide rod on my Shadowcat and can adjust clearance as I so deem.
Just buried...
If one would use the right plastic or thin wood cut outs to fit the riser... Something on the order of scrimshaw...animals and the such.
Ahhhh! The bows of old. Check Archery History. Some...
Looks pretty good. More effort than I have, that's for sure.
Plasti-dip? For what I've seen it isn't very thick nor takes extreme pressure. Suggestion; thick rubber, like a lug off a old tractor...
It's been a while back, but when I first tried the banana style grip of both the Onza and Nemesis I wasn't fond of them and I'm still not. So it seems Elite has something on the same order, a banana...
Yes, Barry, limbs, cams, strings, one piece riser, slightly shorter ata. Otherwise, not a great difference in both bows other than the banana curve grip of the Scepter V. It just feels a bit...
Yes, this is very much allowed for newbies. Our club does this, but scores are not allowed to be posted.
Me, I try to shoot from the Cub stake, but they won't let me. Bummer... :(
Absolutely nothing wrong with your arrow and a darned good one.
Like WildWilt, note the bow string in the cams, more left of the center and if your bow is shooting fine, shoot it.
Gots to agree with Barry. Judging yardage is secondary for the first couple of 3Ds. Getting use to shooting 3D is enough to handle. Them dang 3D critters are something different than shooting targets...
Me like it!
Don't have much. No one talking about the Scepter V.
However, there is no reason I know of that would detract from it being a class act. 40" ata, 7" brace height, darn nice cams. Owning a 2011...
I once played with my chronograph when setting center shot. Having the NAP QuikTune 3000 adjusting windage in quite easy. I moved the rest off a fair amount and then began shooting, two shots per per...
wscywabbit,
How far could you shoot and still kill a deer? Just about as far as the bow can shoot, but most realistically the arrow must a sharp cut on contact broadhead and must go in the "boiler...
Here's one I have on order, but all black with the ivory skulls. Two other skulls are available, transparent white and chrome. I also have on order a black and flo green wrist sling and matching...
Well, "vague" it might be, but I've noted many times for non-owning Martin people to down load Martin's manual to get through several issues, timing to shooting.
So keep up the "vagueness".... Well,...
