I actually put some of the 2 finger no-glove rubber attachments on each end on my Onza when I replaced the strings. Can slide them up and down to tune a bit for speed and helps quiet the string.
dz,
You should of been around when all the bows were 44"-48" long. We hunted with them out of a tree and everything. It cracks me up when folks think a 35" bow that weighs 4lbs before...
I like the split limb design personally but also with a yoke cable system. You can tune out the cam lean better in my opinion.
I did put the straight carbon rod and I'm thinking it is an Alpine slide on my Onza when the TRG system came off. It is a bit longer so still have vane clearance but cables aren't pulled quite as...
That is exactly what I was thinking about. I know we put one of those on my old Firecat before I sold it. I thought the TRG/SOS was the ticket as it pulled back in closer then pulled away. This...
I wonder if Martin or someone has some of the old steel rods all ready bent. Remember the ones that were sort of Z shaped and you could adjust them more
So do you feel your Onza shoots better with the new cable rod? What kind of rod is it? just regular 3/8" steel rod painted black or what?
How much clearance from shooting string to end of rod? Looks very interesting to say the least.
I tried body washers that seem to bend then a piece of heavy plastic. Depending on how you anchor you can start getting your sight housing out to the end of the horizontal travel. So I just milled...
We're you trying to tighten or loosen the mod screw when it broke? The left handed drill bit might break the head loose in the screw or at least back the screw out where you could work on it easier....
Maybe try a left handed drill bit? We have them here at our truck shop and use them on occasion when a blot head snaps off. Usually will start a bit and grab the bolt and back it out.
I wish they would go to a split harness own the cables. A person could do some adjusting and maybe help tune out some cam lean. I had a Martin Ocelot years ago that I think was about their first...
I'm shooting the micro adjust that has the 5 pins that get smaller and all green. It had a .29 at the top but is now a .19 with yellow for the 30 yard and red in the 50 yard pin. But the mounting...
Well answered my own question this morning. Took off my TruGlo micro adjust and put on a cheap TruGlo just now and it lines up fine. Seems the way my other sight is made it won't lay straight on...
Have any of you other Onza owners noticed that your sight mounting bracket and your arrow rest bracket are not inline with each other? I have probably one of the first Onza 3 bows built and ever...
I have one of the Wildman detachable quivers they sell at Martin. It is a 4 arrow removable and is the Next 1 camo so it matches my Onza perfectly.
I have a Ripcord Red on mine and have no problems with it. One thing you might watch on your sight though is the backside of mounting bracket. I have a Truglo extreme and the way the backside of...
So I did a little tuning on the Onza today. I put twists in the power cables and they now have just over 1/8" gap. The poundage I thought I'd lost when new strings and cables were installed is...
So if I put my bow in the press and add a couple of twists to the power cables it will bring the post closer to the cable? I just put new cables and string on my Onza and the posts are approx 1/4"...
I still have a couple of flippers as well as a Microbrite Tuner rest. The original launcher style lizard tongue style. Also have a sandwich ziploc bag full of every type of brass and steel sight...
boothill...I live in Dodge City, KS. Home of boothill, Gunsmoke and Marshall Dillon fame. Funny how folks come here still expecting to see cowboys and indians. The Santa Fe trail tracks are still...
bfisher,
We did that with my old Firecat when they came out with the Cat cam. Took the straight rod off and put on an old bent arm and slide. Sure seemed like it took a lot of lean out of it. We...
Double S,
If you don't mind sharing what brand of bow scale DID you have? I've been thinking about getting one but whatever brand you had I don't want. Sorry about your bow, that sucks.
I'm not real worried about the deal. It will be taken care of all in good time. If he hadn't of been changing the strings and cables along with the cable slide it wouldn't of been noticed. There...
