Brem, i bought the firecat new Dec 31 shot it Jan1 and had to take it back for cam string and cable replacement cams had burrs in them and cut the cables.. Finally got it back shot it about a week...
Thanks archer just wondered cause i got a 2011 x coming i just had a firecat 400 replaced due to limb failure let the dealer keep it and ordered me the x.. Hoping to have better luck like i said got...
Isnt the barnsdale limbs supposed to be better?? Why change if so? Do limbs have any affect on speed of a bow or is that all in cams i have a friend thats got a 09 x and it smokes...
Do the 2011 alien x have barnesdale limbs?? Have there been any changes to the bow from 2009-2010 models. If so for better or worse?

@mln just punched ur b.i.l numbers in and with nothing on the string it showed 280. Im shooting blazer vanes by the way. Ur also only talking about 2fps faster on my bow. And as far as the whiskers...
Okay punched numbers and i added 6.4 gr for d loop 6.5 for meta peep and 31.55 grains for cat whiskers 70# 27" draw its saying 285.66 which is really close it took off 10 fps for the whiskers wow!!...

Are those of us with short draw lengths just outta luck for shooting 300fps????? I got the firecat 400 in hopes of at least coming close and the best i can get is 285fps with 27" draw 70# and 368gr...
used to shoot one but went to both open just seems easier since im a contact wearer..

Im a little new to but i have a firecat 400 and a ripcord rest in order to get the fork of the rest to sit flush with the arrow shelf my arrow is leveld just across the top of the holes and shoots...
Few questions for the knowledged.. How many pounds are the firecat 400 or any bows 70# limbs good for 70-75 per say and at what point do u quit losing power in poundage by twisting the cables??? ...
Lol, thanks guys other than this prob im really liking the bow shoots better than my hoyt by far and shot today next to a mathews reezen 6.5 and that bow seemed loud to mine which made me even more...
thanks archer ill have that checked.. If the string is long would that be the same as shooting a longer draw length per say????
ehunter, thanks i took it back to bow shop i bought it and he has martin sending new cams and cables but ur correct on the burr he found the burrs..
As far as speed thats what i was thinking around...
Bought a new firecat 400 12/31/10 shot the bow the next day and when was done noticed that the cams was damaging the cables.. Martin is sending new ones to replace just wondered if anybody else was...
