Have you ever looked at the cost of an elephant or lion hunt? That alone is enough to make me wet myself. You can't take any of the meat or tusks. You can eat some in camp but the rest has to go to the local tribes. Shooting an elephant with a gun doesn't seem all that challenging, dangerous yes.
