Just got done looking at the threshold in my catalog and so what if it has a cast riser and it is a bit longer. I guarantee this bow is qoing to be a shooter. I have a darton viper that is heavy as can be and is way longer, slower, I bet louder, and don't forget older, (Ive had it since 94 or so, I think?) with a cast riser and I shot it last week and the thing just pounds the arrows down range. And last year I took it out and smoked a doe at 30 yards. Enjoy your new Martin and Welcome to the Forum. Get a good rest, peep sight and the right arrows and most importantly have fun shootin it in.

And being as it was your money the only one that has to be pleased is you. Referring to my ealier post about the riser being cast; this is not necessarily a bad point. Back in the mid 70's and into the 80's cast risers were the standard. These were quite a step upward from the wooden risers. I even had a 1992 Darton Viper that had a cast riser and it was one fine bow. So don't worry about it as far as quality is concerned. The bow should last you many years if you desire to keep it.

    Red face martin threshold

I just got a threshold in a 60# draw i wanted a cheap setup for bowfishin it reminds me of the old jaguar compound but it seems to be smooth and will serve its purpose well.

thanks,Brad. Same limb geometry. The Treshold has a longer riser, it looks like. I like the looks of the parallel limb bows better
