Vermonter, just a little warning about drawing your bow without an arrow: it isn't a good practice, since one mistake and you just dry-fired your bow. I just wanted to warn you so you never have to have limbs replaced do to accidental dry-fire.

You need to be careful alright. If you do it make sure your finger isn't on the release's trigger, have it behind it when you draw.

    Default Dry Firing

No AD here I always keep the trigger finger away. Thanks for the warning though. I am seriously considering having an arrow knocked for the next bear encounter. I have called F&G more times than I can count and all they continue to say is "hunting season is coming soon". It is actually to the point where I never walk my dog unarmed. These things are so used to human scent and trash that they do not spook at all. One of these days there will be a shotgun slug or an arrow involved and then I will be considered a poacher even after numerous calls to F&G. That or I will simply say the bear had a gun lol.
