    Post Dacron string stretch

Hi Everyone, I'm going to replace the string on my bow.The old string (i don't know how old is it) is Dacron for teardrop and by the bow spec supposes to be 35".
Here is my confusion - I've measured with tape measure 38" and my question is: is it possible the old string to stretch 3" or is just wrong length?
    Thanks.

It is possible to stretch that far. Dacron is used on older bows and it is a inexpensive material. Not knowing how the long the string was when started, its hard to tell what happened.

I doubt it has stretched that much, its either the wrong length or it has a broken strand. With a cut or broken strand it will keep getting longer. Are the bow specs correct even with the long string?

It is very hard to read the numbers on the sticker, but I used a UV light and I'm pretty sure that the length must be 35".

35 could be 38 but if the draw length is right on spec, then 38" is probably correct.
