New Onza comparison

Well, go the new Onza all sighted in out to 50 yards, and decided it was time to put it to the test. Was grouping very well at 50 yards, so I grabbed some broadheads and put them on. Walked back up to 30 yards and let a few fly. Identical to my FP's without any adjustments whatsoever. Stepped back to 50 yards, dead on again. Great groups too. Never had to move the nock point or centershot. I was VERY happy. Then I decided to chrony the thing. 73# @ 28.5 in. 383 gr. arrow----------302 fps. Shot at least 15 arrows through the chrony, and all were within 301-303fps. So then I checked my Firecat. 70# @ 28.5 in. 383gr. arrow------303fps. Was incedibly happy with this, so I grabbed the 60# Onza. 61# @ 28.5 in. 365 gr. arrow-----290fps. The Onza's seem to shoot a little bit better for me. Steadier hold, a bit tighter groups, no shock at all, virtually no noise at all. I am seriously rethinking about taking the FC400 to Wyoming. Looks like it might be the Onza making the trip with me. lol

Hutch, I know Sonny is having a hell of a time with one right now, but the two I own haven't given me any problems at all. Granted, one's only a couple weeks old, but it was also an older bow made in 2010. Been the easiest to tune, and quietest bow I have ever had. Quickly becoming my favorite of all time.

I am with Ehunter. I love my Onza. It is very accurate and other than the DL modules coming loose no issues as of yet. I bought it from Huntersfriend online and they tuned the bow for me and it was dead on accurate at 20yds. I have a thunk coming from somewhere on the bow not sure if it the STS or SOS so I am still figuring it out. I am borrowing a nicer stab from my neighbor tomorrow to see if that quiets it down some.

According to the paperwork that came with my bow it shoots my arrows at 281fps at 60# and 29.5DL. I am going to crank it up sometime soon to get a few more FPS out of it but I am happy with the way it shoots now.

Also the TRG seems to be doing okay there are some slight rub marks on the plastic where is contacts more there than other places but I am thinking about putting some slick tape in there to make it slide better over the surface.

PS The bow also looks sweet as all get out.

Sharx, that "thunk" you are referring to, is it one you feel, or hear, or both? My 60#'er had a weird "thunk" feel to it, but no noise. I advanced the top cam slightly (1 cable twist) and that got rid of it.

It's more of a hear than feel. I can pull the string back one inch and let it go and I hear it. I thought it was the string thwacking into the SOS but the STS that I mounted in the lower half of the riser stops the string before it hits the SOS. I got some Limbsaver dampeners today at walmart for solid limbs and am gonna try out another stab tomorrow so I guess I will see what is up.

I had my wife stand about 20yds off to the side the other day and she said she could hear the bow pretty easily so I am on a mission to quiet it down.

Sharx, could it be that the string is bending when it hits the STS you have, and continuing on and hitting the SOS? Might try taking off the SOS completely, and see if that does it.

Destroyer, yes, I have two Onza's. One 60# for turkey and small game hunting, and one 70# for deer, etc. Bought the 60# first, loved it enough I bought the 70# as a back up for my FC400. Now it's the other way around. The FC400 is my back up. lol
