    Hello,
when you buy a used Martin and it suppose to have Barnsdale limbs on it are the limbs marked Barnsdale ?
just wanted to know what to look for and to see if my 2010 Shadowcat has Barnsdale limbs .

    Thanks TS2

Martins are a number and letter

    Barnsdale are 3 digit numbers

Yep, if its 60# it should be 135. Don't think you will get barnsdale limbs on a stock 2010 Shadowcat.

The limbs won't have the name Barnesdale on them. They'll look just like any other limbs with the exception of the deflection numbers etched or stamped to the underside of the limb at the rotocup and as already been said this will be a 3 digit code. For instance, my Alien Z has 195 limbs for 50# while my Nemisis has 175 for the same 50#. The deflection, according to Dave Barnesdale, is derived by putting the limb in jig and putting a down force of 45# in the center and measuring how much the limb bends, in thousands of an inch. So the higher the number the less poundage you'll get with a given bow.

Great info, I was wondering where the number came from. Cheers bfisher!

Let me make a slight correction. Mine are marked B195. "B" most likely designating Barnesdale. As to how they get the deflection code? I actually taked to Dave Barnesdale about this about two months ago. At the time his machine could only go down to 14" limbs so the deflection was interpolated for 13" limbs. He told me he was in the process of getting a new machine to do shorter limbs.

Just a matter of note, but I was under the impression that Martin had discontinued using Barensdale limbs since they now have the Powertuff limbs "perfected", but a friend of mine ordered an Alien Z and got it yesterday and it has Barnesdale limbs on it so maybe they still have a few left in stock. Either that or they are just using them on the Rytera line for now.

Would be great if they switched to them permanently.
