heck the dealer cold have scrached it with a box kninf when opening up the box.some ones wedding ring could have put a scratch in it when they werte testing it out, ther are so many ways scratches could have got ther.the only way a guy can say it was a quality issue is if you order direct from martin and have the bow drop shiped to your door.just to many things that could have happend from the dealership.

wort case would be to strip it down to bare met and have it powder coated for 20.00

I saw in your e-mail to Martin, that the bow was purchased from Bowsports in Birmingham (UK). I'm afraid they do not enjoy the best of reputations, and have been known to sell (to a forum member) New Old Stock that they have purchased from elsewhere.

It is almost impossible to say where and when the scratches happened, but I wouldn't automatically blame the Martin factory.

The bow was in its original sealed Martin branded plastic bag (and cardboard box which was not damaged). Since the scratches were there right out of that bag I conclude that these were caused at Martin.

Wow old thread. I know that past in-discrepancies may have proven frustrating, and that QC has been sporadic the last few years. I guess this is the one of the things we hope the new owners improve upon. Just as we hope they maintain Martin's great customer service and ingenuity of the past.
