Martin Rage low poundage?

Okay, Guys I had a customer in here with a bow that wouldn't reach poundage.
details
2001 Martin Rage, XRG, 5h limbs (60lbs) 36.5 ATA, Modules 8"s (30" draw), Fury cams, everything is to spec.
It would only read 56 pounds also the bow was in excellent shape.

OK, have you actually measured the draw length to see if it matches the stated length for that module? You could add some twists to the cables to boost the draw weight. How many I don't know because I never worry about the weight much. Twisitng the cables will increase the draw length slightly but shouldn't change the other specs much. Specs are just approximate. Get what you need and then measure and record the specs as they need to be.

Yep, plenty of 60# have only seen 58# so add some stretching of the strings over the years and that is what you would end up with.

Yeah Barry, I thought the same so I measured the dl, It was right. I twisted the cables and got the timing perfect. The ATA is now a 1/4 inch short and all I got is 56 pounds. Do you think the Martin specs are wrong.

Problem is the string set is new.

Nothing to add but what is the poundage supposed to be? Maybe it is 50 or 55 pound bow with the 5H limbs?

It could just be the limbs are marked wrong...

60lb is the max. and is registers at 56lbs. Limbs are correct. Just don't get it. Can the mod's change poundage. I wouldn't think so.

Do you think it would have passed QC at that draw weight?

Is your scale accurate? Try another one to see.
