    Default NJ permit buck

Finally connected after a rough fall bow. First time I had a grunt call work for me. He crossed a big field at 6pm and hung up at 50yds. Grunted a few times and he came in on a string for a 25yd shot. Martin 08' cheetah and Rage 2 blade-no pass thru but as you can see it looks like he was hit with an axe. 80yds and piled up. Ran toward the truck! average 6pt, but big bodied deer.

Congrats man, nice deer! He looks heavy.

I'm surprised a 2-blade didn't pass thru? Mine passed thru and went about 60 yards so I guess it really doesn't make much difference. He is door knob dead just the same?

It could just be the picture but he looks huge compared to his rack. Then again, you can't eat the rack.

I hope my next deer runs towards the truck. That sure would be helpful!

yes this is the third deer I've shot with rage 2 blade with no pass through. I've shot 8 deer with muzzy 3 blade 100gr and all were pass through up to 38yds. I did have one shoulder hit with rage that fell right out with no recovery as well. I'm shooting 70# with the cheetah. I think fixed blades give you a bit of cushion with a shoulder or bone shot in that they have enough energy to bust through. With the rage they seem to loose a ton of energy upon entry. The positive is they hit where your field tips hit so its a trade off. I agree that if you put one in "the cage" they will go down quickly, just don't hit bone.

my 2 cents, not an expert by any stretch.

    lets see the 2012 Martins!
