Curious question I have. Since in the UK we cannot hunt. What happens to the deer after the kill? Will it end up in the freezer or is there a market for venison in the US?

most meat ends up in the freezer,its a lot of red tape in order to sell trade game meat,well atleast in oregon.i would have to have a form on my to tranport it and the name of the person im takeing it to,if ya want to do it the right way.but i dont know any one who does.we share and share alike.

Darnember, he is going in the freezer but here in Iowa there is a program called HUSH (Help Us Stop Hunger) where you can donate any deer taken to specific meat lockers that will process the meat and the state pays the processing fee and the meat goes to helping. Folks who can't always afford a decent meal.

Yup, southeast Iowa. Saw another in the neighbor's yard across the road while headed out coonhunting that is close to the same size. Hope the doe he's chasing stays in the area and brings him past my son in the morning.

That's a very legitimate question. Most deer are cut up and go into the freezer for personal use. In most states the selling of wild game meat is illegal. It can be given away and most states have organizations that accept donations of such meat that they distribute to places that provide meals for the homeless and other needy persons. in other words, it does not have to go to waste. Hope this helps some.

Kicking myself in the arse for shooting the little guy I got a few days before this one. Had another big boy chasing a doe around me this morning. Figured it'd happen since all I have now are doe tags. May have to use the bow during late muzzleloader, that is IF I want to put up with the cold temps at that time.

That deer will end up in the family's freezer of course!
I am from Ireland and we are not allowed bow hunt either, but when did that stop anyone?
