Default Gator Vanes are on. Time to try them out.

I just received my order from Louie at Gator Vanes. This is my first time using or fletching feathers. I was getting ready to glue them on when I found out my Favorite glue was all dried up. Anyways, I had some other glue lying around so I fletched a few up for testing to see which one will fly best with my setup. The Vanes come in 6 inch increments. You can cut it down to the size you like. I'm trying 3, 2 and 1. Pink and White feathers. Lou was great to chat with and very friendly. I'm gonna let the glue cure all day and try it out tomorrow if it doesn't snow. I wanted to share some pics with you folks first. once I find the best Combo, then I'll add my Battledrum arrow wraps.

    Simon,
    They look awsome.
You might want to trim the single down to about 3/8" tall, I got my best flight at the hight.

    Simon,
Sue likes the color. She almost went with the pink and white, but went with pink and black instead.

For me they have always flown and grouped awsome. They are all my wife and I shoot.
They do have some noise, nothing I would worry about for hunting though. I have never had anything duck or jump the flething noise, just the twang of the string. My theroy is that by the time anything would hear the fletchings, the arrow would be going out the other side anyways. For me I cut the height dow from the standard 1/2" to 3/8". They don't drop out around 60 yards like the untrimmed do.

I have shot all the Ca. State Championships, NFAA Southwest Sectionals and Vegas last year with Gators. Placed in the top 3 in all the shoots except Vegas, finished 16th there.
Needless to say I am a Gators fan.
