Second Fall archery turkey maybe......

Just found out there were 66 tags left in my area and applied for one. Hope to make it my second fall turkey this year with the bow so we'll see. Gonna use the Grimm Reaper this time and see how it turns out. Have til' 1-8-12 to get it done. Just gotta go set up the blind again. Will keep ya posted.

Hope you draw!Turkeys are my favorite to hunt with a bow!!!We can get 1 in the spring and 1 in the fall here.Wish it was doubles : )

@ spiker we are one in each season also but this is the first year there were leftover tags in my area. I already have drawn the tag I just need to wait for the mail now. Hopefully here by Saturday. Two weeks ago had 43 in under the tree one evening. We'll see, lol.

Thought I'd give an update and know the griefs coming but I filled it with the shot gun. Got up this morning and it was 19 out with a windchill of 9 with the wind howling at 19 mph. Didn't think the birds would even hold their pattern in that so decided to use the gun in case I had to do some stalking. Was about to call it a morning when the feet were starting to give me grief but they held the pattern surprisingly and about 30 came in and I picked out one of the largest (yep no monster gobbler) but it will still eat good. Maybe next year will go after another archery bird.

Nice to fill out that drawn tag, no matter how it went down. I've been a bowhunter since the mid 60's, but I still have a full gun cabinet, and shoot them at least once a year, whether they need it or not.
