Good point, but spinning the idler will not tell you if the axle is bent as the axle doesn't turn. It will show if the idler is bent or warped though.
Whatever the problem ends up being it should be addressed. The string looks like it's beginning to fray somewhat and that is not what we are looking for. This is where some guys get the idea that the strings are crap and think they need to replace them or serve that area. That's not the answer. The answer is to get the string tracking correctly and/or sand any sharp edges in the idler groove.

@ Hutch squared the idler both sides numerous positions and all is good in the squared world. Going to the shop after work tomorrow but think I got a handle on it now. @ bfisher don't know why that look showed up but I see what you're talking about. Checked idler and no sharp edges smooth as a baby's behind waxed it all up and have drawn it numerous times and it looks good but thanks for the good eye

Well hope all things go well at the Pro shop parttimr. I forgot about using the square on the idler. Done it many times and at least it shows you if it is or not. And you sound a little more confident. Soon you will be back shooting. WHOO HOOOOO!!
