well, saw a few does and 2 smallish bucks bout 60yds out move through a briar patch. visited the LO after dark, had some coffee and picked up the .22. He told me morning seems to be the best time. Says he sees them crossing the rd from the south, headed to the orchard to the north, along the east side of the property, and feed at the back of the property along the orchard/grass line. so I'll hunt that stand(li'l red dot by the big red "A"). once i get a feel for their movements,i can put up my own stands or use the climber accordingly.
the LO is more than just the LO. He was one of my good friends in high school at the Christian school i graduated from. His cousin(along with my younger brother) is the one that isn't shooting any deer, and was my youth group leader. I lost track of my buddy after graduation and haven't seen him in close to 20yrs. Come to find out,I lived on the same rd for 6yrs less than 5miles away and could've been hunting this property the whole time. DOH!
So,I'll be back out there in the morning. but it's gonna be COLD. Highs in the low 30's w 10-15mph winds. BRRRR!

Nice looking property. I was going to post last night but it seemed you made up your mind to go after this. Good decision. I like the looks of the creek running along the oaks. It seems at the bottom right hand corner of your O there might be a small clearing between the oaks and the creek. That looks a lot like a setup I am using at my Uncle's property. Good luck, hope to see some harvest photos.

yeah, there's a decent clearing at the bottom of the hill bout 55-60yds to the south of the stand i hunted tonight. that stand is gonna be a hot spot for early season when all the acorns drop

ends Jan 1st. In the woods now. Got out late cuz my wife wanted McD's for breakfast. Walked up on 11 deer feed on the edge of the oaks n apples...ALL within 10 yds of the stand I sat last night. Drew on one broadside at 30yds and was waiting for it to take another step or 2. I adjusted my position to hopefully get a clearer shot. My coat was caught snagged on some briars and a doe that I didn't see that was bout 1ryds ahead of me and just inside some thick stuff busted me. At least I'm seein deer. Only a matter of time
