Default Got my first deer ever. But it was with my rifle!

Christmas eve I killed a small doe. She probably just lost her spots a few months ago. I just got back into hunting after a several year hiatus. Anyway, was creeping up to a plot at about 11:30 and saw movement through the trees. Slowly kept moving up to get a closer look and suddenly she jumped out in front of me. She was as surprised as me...then she turned to run and I shot her in the boiler room. Had pepper jack, Cajun and jalapeņo and cheese sausage made.

Next one is going down with the bow.

    Congrats on the harvest.
Sounds like a good combo that you are mixing her with.

This is just after the deer went down. Huge hole. I was using my Remington model 700 .270. The bullet penetrated her chest and came out the side. Took out her lungs, most of her heart and a few ribs. The brightest shade of red color i've ever seen...
