Been sorta crazy down here as well, Grandson's baseball schedule keeps us on the go, team swept the first tourney down in Glendale, took 2nd in the Bobby Dore tourney, won last nights game 17-8, and has a D2 game ( 8th graders vs high school JV ) tonight up in Eugene. Go Lions!
Here's what we've been up to lately, making gun stocks. These are for New England Firearms or Harrington and Richards Ultras. Top one is Oregon Golden Myrtle with walnut accents, bottom stock set is California Redwood Burl and Golden Myrtle.

Nope, 4th one I've made, and ES's 2nd. His first was a stock set for a Remington 760 pump, same stock as your Rem 740-2 uses ( can't remember which model you have ) for my oldest granddaughter's rifle, a much harder stock set, the forearm is difficult. Realize that this is a youth stock set, stock is only 10 1/2" long. Oregon Golden Myrtle. In each of these stockset photos, I used a slab of myrtle as a background.

Yeah, knew that it is older than you are, heck, I've got a finger tab older than you! Actually only 7 years younger than ES. Bows too! I sold a Rem Model 742 ( semi-auto ) last April, well actually traded it for reloading equipment and a scope, that was basically the same as your's. Not fond of semi-autos, just prefer bolt guns or single shots. Last pic did'nt do the stock any justice, has wonderfull figure and color shifts as you move it in light. That light colored section on the butt of the right side of the stock is gold. Best piece of the whole slab, just glows! Except for the piece that I cut out around a knot fracture that I'm going to copy a Martin Lynx riser with. Am going to use Black Max ILF limbs. Need to get a band saw in the shop first however. Just so happens, one of the nephews up in Bremerton Washington has one ( was his father in law's ) that he does'nt use. No worries, I'll post a build along throughout the build, seems a perfect fit for the DIY forum, Have build along pics of the stock builds, but thats not archery related.

Lets move this back onto the front page! Really, you guys should concider the gear that we make, we use it roughly and have had no failures.
