    Honestly I don't know yet, going to set it up & shoot it first. Not crazy about the color but I bought it for the bow itself, we'll see.

    Aside from those little blemishes you pointed out, it looks sweet! I've been taking a liking to the carbon fiber finishes. I'm sure it doesn't matter match being 20 feet up if you were shooting a carbon finish vs a camo pattern, right?

    Any help here? I don't know where to look for the deflection codes.
    Also, the manuals that came with it don't tell you what the modules are?? I have F1,2,3,4,6,7 and guessing F5 is in the bow.

    So true, but I'm not too crazy about the carbon fiber on the riser. I was expecting flat black riser with carbon limbs based on pictures in the catalog. After I figure everything out I'll send it out for a bath in Max1 if all goes well.

    3LP is the deflection code. The 'P' just stands for 'PowerTuff' limbs.
    The Martin charts say that the deflection code for 60#'s on that bow is 3M. (L=light, M=medium, H=heavy)
    So - the inspection card says the bow maxed at 60.5# when it left the factory, which would be only 1/2lb over what the bow is supposed to be.
    For it to be a 65# bow - it should have like 4L or 4M limbs on it with the factory length strings.
    Now if you were to change the cables from the factory 33 7/8" to 33 1/2" - then you would increase the pre load on the limbs and increase the max
    draw weight to say 65#.
    Is the ata/bh and dl on the factory specs? Or is the ata short?

    You should be able to see the module number on at least one of the mods.
    The F5 module is usually not used so the mods/dl should be:
    f1=26"
    f2=27"
    f3=28"
    f4=29"
    f6=30"
    f7"31"

    Brace height is at 7 1/4 and ATA is at 32 1/4 right now, no idea on the draw. I have a 30" draw & it feels way short. Based on your info I need F-6 for 30" & it has the light limbs. So my next question is : Will doing this put too much stress on the light limbs? "Now if you were to change the cables from the factory 33 7/8" to 33 1/2" - then you would increase the pre load on the limbs and increase the max draw weight to say 65#".

    I know I haven't shot this yet but really don't like the idea of 60 pounds and wanted 65. I chanded the limbs on my Guardian to 50-60, maxed at 62 and was very unhappy with the speed loss from 68.

    The F-5 was in the bow so are they different from this? I have 7 mods.
    f1=26"
    f2=27"
    f3=28"
    f4=29"
    f6=30"
    f7"31"

    It appears that is exactally what was done. Had a dr's appointment today in Reno so took the bow with me to set it up. First thing we did was talk with Joel about the limbs and was assured they are correct and would be fine at 66 pounds. Next we put a loop on it to check the draw weight & it was 66 pounds on the nose. Next we adjusted the brace height and ata to specs. Put it back on the scale and only lost one pound, down to 65 pounds, right where I want it. Put a 1/8 peep in, leveled the Ripcord, changed out the stock cable slide to a Mach 5 teflon slide, put the F-6 mod in, and started shooting.

    The bow feels well ballanced, easy to maneuver, VERY FAST, a little louder than expected but I can work on that. After setting the draw stop and tying in the drop away cord I took a few more shots to set the sight.

    Here are the results at 20 yards. 1st group

    same group, different angle.

    2nd group

    For some reason the draw feels a little harsher than the Ridge Hunter I shot there last summer, could just be me? Anyway, this is the set up now.

    65 pound draw weight
    30" draw
    Ripcord Code Red
    HHA 5519
    6" Fuse Axium

    First impression is a good one and this is a tack driver at 20 yards. I'm going to try and get the sight tape on it out to 70 yards in the next few days, weather providing.
    Side note, when we called Martin to talk to Joel - got the machine twice. Left a message the second time and within 4 minutes we were talking to Joel. Customer service at it's best from the top of the chain. That speaks volumes in my opinion, A+.
