Kind of scared to go to a 3d shoot.

my partner and 2 older kids and i are all barebowers. the 4 of us often take a fifth person who needs a group, whether that person approaches us or we are asked by the organisers. having that 5th shooter also busts a family group and keeps us looking honest also. we have enjoyed shooting with enthusiastic beginners and experienced old hands, and have met some great people.

wish i could help but i dont like to be around to many people.when i go and kill foam deer(for fun not score)i will go with a friend but if ther are more the 5 people shooting when we show up i will turn around and go home,or go get a bite and come back to see if they left.

i couldnt describe it any better, im the same way at my range, and then you have your range hogs who will stay forever. im a member at my range so sometimes i go late at night, and obviously you can only use the indoor range at night, and people come there just to hangout. i have been in there while there is a crowd at night, and people do yell and bully people into missing their targets. most of the guys their are either old timers or young punks,]. i just leave to remove myself from trouble, the last thing i want to do is get kicked out of the club for wiping the floor with some punk, which ive been known to do being a young punk myself

i shot my first 3d a month ago, i was scared myself, but with a screwed up arrow rest that was causing fletching contact, and shooting targets with unknown distances i still shot a 180 on a 20 lane range, which is well above the average score of the shooters there based on their point system. believe it or not, you cant get over it until you try it. shoot in a group of strangers, even if you dont know them, it brings out your edge. you may just be a better archer than you think

Good advice by all. Just go and see if you can find a couple guys to shoot along with. You might find a couple to travel and shoiot with on a regular basis. Then you won't have to go solo so often. You have to get your feet wet sometime and there's no time like the present. The more you get around this the better you'll get and find that most will welcome a new shooter. Who knows? Maybe you'll meet a guy or two that;s in the same shoes you're in.

Unfounded fear..there is no substitute for experiencing it. You are missing out on a lot of fun! Great practice!

not sure what you're afraid of. i'm a lousy shot. that doesn't stop me from shooting 3d. i've never had anybody be anything but helpful and tolerant of my ineptitude.

the world is full of failures who were afraid to try...don't be a failure.

Just let the other people u join up with shoot first. I find great amusement in shattering others arrows.

i still go to some shoots solo. i've had the chance to shoot with some great folks by just showing up, including Gary Studt, a Martin pro shooter.
