Yesterday was the first time i brought my new Onza 3 outdoors to our 3D archery course. The temperature was perhaps 25 degrees Fahrenheit.
I noticed the bow was relatively loud now, clearly louder than when I have been shooting it indoors (I have Slipjax dampeners on my strings). A distinctive popping sound. I wonder it the string stop could be the reason: if the rubber in string stop gets hard at low temperatures, this could explain the difference. With my Hoyt CRX 32, I have not observed similar behaviour. I could actually take the string stop of my Hoyt and test it with the Onza.
