So do you feel your Onza shoots better with the new cable rod? What kind of rod is it? just regular 3/8" steel rod painted black or what?

I like this. Ten Ring what about vane clearance. I'm looking at doing this but have a concern on clearance. I'm close already and have to rotate top van just a little to the right. I'm also using Sanderson Hyper slide.

The nice thing about a rod/guide setup like this, is that the way they are designed there should be plenty of clearance by the time the arrow passes the cables.
My wife packed my bags and threw me out, as I was walking out the door, she told me "I hope you have a long and miserable life!"... To which I replied "Oh, now you want me to stay?!" LOL

I wonder if Martin or someone has some of the old steel rods all ready bent. Remember the ones that were sort of Z shaped and you could adjust them more
You could use an old dog leg cable rod

That is exactly what I was thinking about. I know we put one of those on my old Firecat before I sold it. I thought the TRG/SOS was the ticket as it pulled back in closer then pulled away. This might be a better way though. I'm still concerned about the string being 1/8" from the rod. I've seen those slow motion videos where the strings look like they are about ready to jump off the bow.
All I know is this set up works for me I understand what you are thinking about there are somethings that stick in your head that you can't get your arms around you just think about and it just doesn't seem right all I can say is try it with an open mind

I did put the straight carbon rod and I'm thinking it is an Alpine slide on my Onza when the TRG system came off. It is a bit longer so still have vane clearance but cables aren't pulled quite as far to the side.
