Competition Electronics Prochrono

My Chrono arrived today. Its a Competition Electronics ProChrono Digital, CEI-3800. In between rain showers i was able to run out and place it on my Tripod and shoot three strings of Harvest Time HT-2 arrows with AAE 4 inch vanes, Gator vanes 4 inch and Fobs. I tested the Chrono with my Nemesis. It roughly around 60 pounds. I have a digital Bow scale that should arrive in the next day or two from OMP outdoors to confirm my poundage. I thought I would share some quick pics.

HT-2 arrows with 100 grain field points. The arrow with the fob has a arrow wrap.


AAE 4 inch Elite vane with HT-2 arrow- 368 grains, 281 FPS



4 inch Gator vanes with HT-2 arrow- 347 grains, 289 FPS



Starrflight Fobs with Ht-2 arrow- 372 grains, 280 FPS

Thanks Bill. I've been slowly buying my own stuff so i don't have to rely on a bow shop 90 miles away. it's sure been a learning experience specially with the Bow scale. . That hand held bow scale your using, Is it green in color?. I'm gonna buy one.

Yep it's green. 4yrs old and not a problem. Even though any scale can give you a problem. So far with this one nothing.

Question Simon? How are you testing the Nemisis? I thought you blew the cams on it. The Pro Chrono is the same one I had some years back. Unfortunately the tripod got knocked over one day and screwed it up beyond repair. I found it very useful when making changes on the bow and seeing how the performance changed. Of course I also used it too much, to a point that I was losing my hair trying to hit that mythical 300 fps---with a 27" draw and stay no lower than the 5 gr/lb minimum. Reality finally caught up to me and I quit worrying about speed and now just try to set bows up to be more comfortable to shoot and let the speed be whatever it is. Part of that decision is that I'm too cheap to get another Chrono. It is a fun toy (tool) for those who like to tinker though.

Simon, how loud is the bow shooting that light of an arrow? I shoot 425gr @ #66 and my Firecat is still a little louder than I'd like. Still has the stock strings on it though.

I did this test the day before I damaged my Cams.

I haven't had an issue with string noise at all plus I use fobs to Hunt with the nemesis. I've never had a deer jump or duck my strings. I was using the stock strings at the time. I make sure that my string stop isn't touching the string at rest. I think it's around 1/16th away. I can't load my Youtube video right now because of the slow internet but I have a video on here of me shooting the Nemesis with a 370 grain arrow with 100 gr heads. I have a Shotgun Mic on full high during the video too.
