Reason: Adding Pictures
Welcome to the forum!. Can you post pics and or Limb Sticker info for us?. There's some folks on here that can read that stuff pretty easy. Welcome again.
Thanks! I have added three photos of my bow, i hope they help.
Any limb sticker info?. Serial number, poundage, etc.
No there's no limb sticker or anything that says anything about the bow other then Martin Firecat Pro Series 4000. That's all the writing on the bow. But I went to my local archery shop and he weighed it and said it could go probably up to 60#. It's set at 55# at the moment.
Anyone know anything about this bow?
It is a left hand Martin Firecat. The overdraw arrow rest and sight are Martin also and would have come standard on the bow if it was purchased as a package.
The stabilizer looks to be Martin also.
As far as the model year - I dont remember for sure what years those cams were offered but most likely it is a mid to late '80's bow.
I'm pretty sure those cams were gone by '90.
Thanks a lot! So would it be just as open to new equipment as the newer ones? Like a new rest?
Yes - you can put any standard mount rest, sight, stab etc on it.
All the mounting locations and thread sizes are standardized so any brand/style will fit.
A good thing would be to put a new string on it and get rid of the tubed peep.
Because of it being an older bow you will want to use a Dacron or B-50 string rather than the modern materials.
Thanks and why do you suggest I get rid of the tubed peep? I just went to a hunting store and that's whatvthey installed for me?
