Need Help picking some new arrows

So I am in need for some new arrows. So all and any of you arrow gurus out there please help. My bow is a shadowcat. maxed out at 64 lbs but am thinking of takin it to 60 lbs. Draw length is 29.5" Looking for a good wt to speed arrow for hunting. Deer,elk,etc... I have 125 gr tips as well as 100 gr. Anythoughts?? Thanks

Ive used Gold Tip XT hunters for more years than I remember. Its a good arrow, Ive hunted with it and shot 3D with it.............no problems.

I shot Beman ICS hunters for a long time, as well as the Gold Tips. Can't say a bad thing about either of them. Both dependable, durable, and affordable. I shoot Victory arrows now, but wouldn't hesitate to use GT's or Beman if Victory quit making arrows. Cabelas also has some in house arrows that are very good.

I just bought some Gold Tip Velocity hunters for my nephew, he has a 29" draw, and a 60# bow so I bought them with that in mind. I wanted him to be able to get the most out of the lower draw weight that he could and still be legal to hunt (6 grains per pound in WA state). I'll let you know how they shake out.

Personally, I use Easton Axis Nanos, and have had no complaints whatsoever... other than the price But even that has dropped this year thanks to all the new lightweight arrows Easton brought out this year. I would highly recommend them.

I used easton axis 350 out of my martin cheetah with a 65lb dw and a 28.5 dl and the wernt as accurate as the goldtip hunter xt arrows i bought previously, and it was noticiable in my 3d league my average dropped, so i switched back to the gold tips and my average went up. no complaints cheap and work great go with gold tips!!

I'm shooting Gold Tip Velocity 300s and love them. Shooting at 29-29.5" draw - don't know the exact and around 65-70# Mine are 28" carbon to carbon and just shoot great.

Unless he has it backed down quite a bit and that is where the lower is coming from 60# is enough to kill any game in North America! I shot Velocity 400s out of my Cheetah last year at 62-64# and they were awesome. Straight pass through on 2 doe from 25-30.

Well, I meant lower because it seems most people shoot 70 lbs since that's what gets talked about with IBO specs. So I bought him the Velocity Hunters in 400 spine and 7.4 grains per inch.... that way we could set him up with a 360 grain arrow and be within legal limits for arrow weight in Washington. I shoot a 70 lb draw with 340 spine and 9.5 grains per inch. If I had a longer draw I'd probably need to jump up to 300 spine, but that's ok.

Timeout ... legal arrow weight?! Either way you got him set up with a solid arrow. I really like mine, they shoot awesome out of the Cheetah. They are too short for my other bows because I have an Apache on the Cheetah and that sits back well behind the arrow shelf.

70# must is a AT stigma, nothing wrong with <70# - The Bengal came in 45-65# limb marked - can't verify it, but the draw on it is sweeeeet! and I'll be hunting with it for sure! Heck there are idiots over there that think they need to shoot 80 and 90# For real dude!? What you trying to prove, hope you got a good surgeon for when your arm rips off is what I think to myself whenever I see that.

Yep legal arrow weight: Washington state has some silly laws. Minimum arrow weight of 6 grains per pound. So a 60 pound bow has to have minimum of 360 grain arrow.

As for the draw weight, I totally understand; my next bow will be a 60# speed bow. My 70# Onza is pretty sweet but I could get the same performance out of a 60# model and a lower arrow weight.

You think the guys on AT are weight crazy, check out the guys at www.archeryaddix.com; there's guys on there shooting 100# + bows. INSANE!
