Default I Need a Little Help

Okay so I have paper tuned and bare shaft tuned. Now I can shoot a tight group from out to 25 yards, at 30 yards my grouping opens up...I have played around with arrows a little bit and found that the wal-mart carbon express terminators 6075 at 31 inches just out of the box as is are shooting the best for me (I am still not happy) the arrows are way to long. I'm shooting a 2011 silencer at 70 lbs at 29" with a nap Apache rest, I have found while tuning she likes throwing 100gr. field points. should I drop my draw weight, change arrows, or am I overlook something simple. I have beaman hunter ics 340, cabellas stalkers exteam 55-70, and easton flatline 340, carbon express terminator 6075. thanks Matt

Frst thing I would do is get a few of your arrows cut to the length you want. With the rest you have I would guess you can cut about 3" off to get a 28" shaft. Then tune again and see what the results are. You can go through the same paper tuning and bareshaft tuning as you did before. Then compare bare shafts to fletched arrows and tune for the same point of impact. When you get this pretty close then set one or two fletched shafts and broadhead tune. If your paper and bare shaft tune are spot on then you shouldn't have to do much more to get broadheads hitting the same place.

Then shoot gor groups as far as you can comfotably do so and see if the results are any better. If not then the problem is likely the shooter. Work on your form. Play with the draw weight and/or draw length to see if you can get the bow to aim more solidly if this is a problem.

How much difference are you talking about in group size from 25-30 yards? What length are the other arrows? Alot of variables to take into consideration. The more we know, the better we can help.

One thing I do know is those Wal-mart arrows are heavy spine arrows. I shoot them for hunting. They shoot a little lower they my lesser spine arrows, but they group absolutely great. 2 or 3 inches off them and they will stiffen right up and might be too stiff. I would have to ask Arrow Splitter my son if he remembers the grains per inch. I think they were 11.2 or 12.2 per inch.

The Terminator Hunter (the camo one sold only at Walmart) was about 11+ gpi.
