    Got to be fish arrows. And I would rule out climates where bambo or cane does not grow. Thats all I got.

    Very interesting I've seen a bow like this before looks to me to be made from black palm used by Guinea tribes bows made approx 6ft long & arrows 5ft long and thay use bamboo bow strings,we have aow hunting magazine sometimes thay have articles on hunts in New Guinea,my in uncle use to build traditional bows I remember he said that black palm wood is good for making bows.I'm not 100% on this but it looks like it is.hope this helps.
