NICE! I have thought about doing the same thing.
My lawn care professionals just don't respect my steel rod markers or their mower blades, it seems. One might think they would figure it out but what do I know?![]()

I did the same thing just used flat rocks from the creek, been out in field for about 5 yrs,had to move them this year cause i mowed the field for hay.....
I cut some old arrows really short and put a piece of tarp on them. I then drove them in the ground deep so only the tops showed. Might have to put in some stones instead.

Nice I need to do that. Beats the 25 foot tape I use.
Years and years ago we had the same problem at our club with trying to mow around steel stakes on our field course. What we ended up using were 4x8x8 concrete blocks. Dug a hole so that they were flush with the ground and stenciled the yardage on top. It was a lot of blocks when you consider four psoitions for each yardage and blocks for the Hunter positions, too, but here it is 35 years later and they are still there even though the field range was removed 20 years ago. Makes for easy mowing when you can go right over top of them with no blade damage. And of course, I'm the guy that does the mowing.
