    Default too much rain!!!!

I went for a drive and took some pics of where I was supposed to lead a couple guys to a certain turkey honey-hole I found in exchange for bow hunting privileges. That isn't going to happen. Name: IMG_0224 (640x480).jpg

In the pics,I'm standing on the edge of the road. from there, the river is actually over 500yrds back. the depth of the river is normally around 8ft deep with scattered holes reaching 15ft-ish. right now it's nearing 25ft OVER flood stage. The river runs through the middle of the town with only two main bridges. At this point,it's the worse it's been in over a decade.

top pic is a car wash, second pic is about 20ft from the back door of the body shop, last pic is the edge of a diner's parking lot. We got another 8" of rain after these pics were taken. The car wash and body shop as well as several other business's are now in 3ft of water.

I've seen similar floods here in central Pa. from the Susquehana River and local streams. One such flood just two years ago. Driving school bus I was tapped for evacuation of several areas. A fair amount of homes bought and condemned by FEMA. I hate to see these things happen and all we can do is wait for the water to recede and see what's left. After the last one I spent the better part of a week just helping an archery buddy pump out his basement, shovel out the mud, and clean up his eletrical box to get electric. He faired half decent compared with others.

Hope all works for the better in your neck of the woods.

Yikes!. No need for that much water. I hope it settles down and the waters recede. When I lived in the Philippines, We had all our aouse Appliances on stilts. When Monsoon season arrived we took all our other stuff from downstairs to the second level. We would have over a foot of water in the house. We lived near a river. We got used to it.

Somehow I don't think that much water is a good thing. Lord willing you won't get any more rain for quite a while.
