Default Trail Camera theifs and molesters

Wenting looking last week for one of my cameras and thought I had just misplaced where I hung it or it got stolen. Went back today with my friend and found my camera at the bottom of the tree, the racthet strap had been removed and only my cable and lock were holding the camera to the tree. Came home and viewed the pictures and it appears a woman who was carrying a tracking antena took the camera down. She,s carrying lots of technical looking gear and I am supsious of some one working for a state or fed. agency. Think I call fish and game and show them the photos before I post any pictures here. Pissed off to say the least. Any advice?

Maybe some PETA member. If you get the chance you can prosecute for vandalism.

Was it on private or public land? Does your state have hunter harassment laws? I would definitely let the cops/ranger/someone know about the vandalism.

Absolutely. If you were within the law and your personal property was destroyed, you have a grievance. If it is a PETA member and they hate hunters then isn't that a hate crime?

I don't play that game. When people trespass, I get violent.

So far 2 calls to the local game warden have not been returned. I will call dfg home office and Sequoia National Forest to see what can be done. If we don't excersize our rights as hunters the anti's will just run amonk and destroy all the private property they can get away with. Unfoutunatly the Cal DFG has been infiltrated with PETA types over the last 2 decades. I am not done yet!

Best of luck Bob, I think you know how I feel about situations like this. Sounds like vandals to me, I know around here if wardens thought someone was hunting illegally they would not vandalize the cam. They would set up on it and catch them when they checked on it or remove it completely.

Got a hold of the dfg wildlife biologist for this district and he was very interested so i e-mailed him the pictures. He did not think it was anyone from the state, but maybe someone running dogs illegally. Anyway it's out there about as far as I can take it, just have to wait and see what becomes of it. Luckily my camera still works, they just managed to break the strap mounts off the back. I can't believe they didn't just twist off the plastic lock tag and take the whole thing. I'll post again if I hear anything more.
