    Default Doubled Up

    image.jpg
This is me and my dad. I hunted these birds since our youth weekend here there was three toms I called them in on youth weekend and the kid I had with me missed. The third day of season I took one of the tons before school and still made the bus in time! I hunted these birds every chance I had and they always stayed out of range because they had four hens with them. On the last day of season me and my dad went to the blind he isn't much of a turkey hunter so before now he never got out of bed! The four hens flew down into the field 200 yds away but we were yet to hear a gobble. I new I had to get the hens in close before the toms came and took them the other way. They ended up closing the distance to a hundred yards before the three toms showed up. I kept calling and they worked their way in closer and closer until me and my dad were able to shoot and knock down two birds. Go figure my dad gets out of bed for fourth five minutes and is able to kill a bird! My bird had inch spurs and a ten inch beard and my old mans had inch and a eight spurs and a nine inch beard. It was an awesome hunt and a great way to end of the season!
