I have a Savannah. I am currently interested in trying a bunch of different strings. One maker has asked me to measure the string by letting it hang from a nail and measure from outside of loop,to the outside of the other. He also said it needs to be the length at the correct brace height before measuring. What if I don`t have a string on the bow currently? How do I order a string?

Order by the bow length. Traditional bows are somehwat different than compounds. Strings are made 4" (s0metimes 3") shorter than the bow's AMO length. The strings are then packaged and marked with the bow's AMO length so the string should be 58" in the case of the Savannah. If the string is prepackaged then it should be marked 62" AMO to coincide with the length of the bow.
