Bareshaft tuning problems

Decided to try some bareshaft tuning since I can't get my broadheads to group with my FP's. I have walkback tuned, shot in for nock heigth and centershot. Shot as far out as 60 yards, and everything was dead on. Paper tuning resulted in a left tear regardless of what I did. (Not much on paper tuning anyways.) Shooting my 65# Alien X. With a 340 spine, I get a bareshaft group about 10 inches right of my fletched arrows. With a 300 spine, I am 6-7 inches right. I tried turning the bow down to about 58 pounds, same results. That says that the spine is too weak, but a 300 spine out of a 58# bow should be too stiff. What am I not thinking about here? The bow is grouping very well with both FP's and BH's, just not anywhere near the same spot. Thanks for the input guys!

Might just be the broadheads. Do you use the same broadheads with your other bows? Same results?

ES4X5, it's doing it with field points. Fletched vs. bare, bare is always to the right at least 6-7 inches and noticeable tailkick. It doesn't fishtail back and forth, just kicks tail left, and stays that way to the target. Both my Alien's do this same thing too. The 70#'er I just sighted in for broadheads, and said @#%! it. I've tried to think of everything. Both ends of the arrows have been squared, shafts spun for straightness, higher and lower draw weight, different spines, even put some pin nocks in to stiffen the arrows. Moved the rest in and out as far as possible. Nothing has made much if any difference.
Tonight I'm going to try dropping the draw weight down to 50 or so pounds, and drop the FP weight to 75. Currently shooting 100 gr. If that doesn't do it, I might have a couple Aliens for sale. lol

Went out tonight, and tried moving the rest around a bit. Had it as far in as possible without fletching contact, and as far out as my sight would allow. No improvement in distance between fletched and bareshaft. Dropped the draw weight down 5 turns to around 50#, and no change. Finally said screw it, and ran the limb bolts back down to 65, started shooting in centershot again. Got that reset, then for S&G's I shot a bareshaft. It hit one inch low left. Shot another. One inch low left. I'm happy with that. Only problem remaining is, the bareshaft arrows are on a 20 degree or so angle into the target, and I can still see them flying tail left all the way to the target. Is this a problem? Haven't shot broadheads with it yet. Wind picked up pretty good as I was finishing up.

O, for shits and giggles try this. Same bow settings as you now have. Same arrow, but use a 125 grain tip. I'm going to say you could use a 400 spine.

FYI the use of pin nocks would not stiffen the dynamic spine if the weight of the nock and pin bushing weigh less than your previous nocks.

What are using for tuning reference? If it's Easton Tuning Guide read the part about release shooters getting opposite readings than finger shooters. Bottom of page 7 I think.

I use EAstons tuning guide, and one by nuts&bolts from over on AT. I didn't have any 125 heads laying around that I could find, but I had an old 150 gr. Shot it with both the 340 and 300 spine arrows. It made the 340 shoot further off right, and the 300 shot about the same distance right as with a 100 gr. head. (using FP's) So I walkback tuned with FP's for centershot again. Hitting dead on out to 50 yards with the 300 spine. Threw some broadheads on, and I'm only hitting about 1 1/2 inches low left at 50 yards from my FP's. Had a roughly 2 1/2 inch group. That's plenty good for me to hunt. Shot a bareshaft just to see what it was going to do. From 20 yards, it's hitting about 2 inches right, but still has that nasty left tail kick. Still going in on a good 20-30 degree angle. Guess I'm not going to worry too much about it since both FP's and BH's are grouping together. Just one of those things that'll stay in my mind and drive me insane (or more so) eventually. lol
