I'm planning on heading out today. There is alot of snow in the woods though making it hard to get around, but we are starting to melt some of this crap away. It'll be a good chance though to see how my dog does.

Was that buck skull on public land? Close to a road? I find things like that here sometimes, always bothers me. Never sure if it was that someone happened to stumble upon a dead buck from fighting or that someone shot and never found, or what else. Either way it is a shame. I use to find more when we had the Earn-a-Buck seasons.

I haven't seen a deer with antlers in a couple weeks around here.

Naw, he was pretty far back on private property. I'd like to think it was a dead find that the neighbors came across. Was literally right on the fence/property line between the two properties.

Really hope to have a dog in the future.

Nice finds. Been wanting to go here, but we got a bunch of snow last week, was almost to bare ground before that. The biggest buck I had on cam had dropped before 12/25 last year, the smaller bucks held them into late Feb. We have a pretty low deer density and miles of woods for them to roam, so shed hunting really is like looking for a needle in a haystack here.
