I took the arrow out in the freezing temps. The arrow and wraps did well so far. I wished I could shoot longer but my back is still out.

Have you weighed one without the wrap and one with it? Just curious as to what they weigh. I'm one of those guys who try to keep the arrow weight to a minimum for 3D, but still keep a decent FOC. Those wraps look to be about 7" long. I shoot 2" feathers so would cut the wraps down to 4" long.

Give me ten minutes Barry and I'll cut one to 4 inches and weight it for you.

Barry, I took one of my unfletched HT-2 arrows and added a 4 inch wrap. The only thing on the arrow is the nock and insert...no fletching. I weighed it before the wrap at exactly 240 grains. With the 4 inch wrap it 241 grains. I hope that helps. I did take that 7 inch wrapped arrows from above and I cut the wrap down to 5 inches to make it look more proportionate to the shorter vane. I usually use 7 inch wraps for my 5 inch feathers for my longbow arrows. I just measured and zipped a razor around the peeled the 2 inches off. The wrap came off with no problem.

Hopefully you peeled the wrap back before you zipped the razor around the carbon shaft.![]()

Not necessary. He isn't using enough pressure to damage the shaft when just cutting the wrap. That's just like people saying to strip fletching with a dull knife. I have always used a very sharp blade in a utility knife and never had an issue, and I've been doing it for 35+ years. Think of it this way. A dull knife only ever cut one thing right and that was the guy using it.

I lightly scored the wrap. It came right off easily. I didn't even mark the shaft. But I always bend test all my arrows. Thank you though for looking out for a fellow archer. Thumbs up.

I have to thank Double S for being the test pilot. I decided to give this a try and yes it will work great once you get the hang of it.

Oh forgot to mention, I have wasted money on tools to shave vanes off. Go to a hardward store and pick up a pack of roofers shingle blades they work great.
