Speed nocks

Wanted to try em out on a martin saber single cam. Wonderin if anybody new of the best placement and type before i got stated on testing

Don't know if anyone does. Single cams are rare having speed nocks. The newer ones as of 2012 have started a new trend and the do. Usually you have to install one or two and chrony it then move them around and chrony again until you get the sweet spot. That is what I had to do for my bengal. Made a big difference.

The bowjax string sleeves are the best route to go. Easy to adjust.

I started with brass nocks one on the top of the bottom serving. Then I added another. Then added another and lost speed. So with my Bengal it only took 2. But it added a lot more speed. But that is not always the way it works so experiment.

I have a pack of four bowjax cumin ill start with one an work up their whan i get my strings( cant wait ). Btw a lil off topic iff u hqve a iphone anyone i dl an app called archery chrono. Works of of sound. Pretty close to tge shop results. This is what ill test with.

Depending on the bow and draw length and weight speed can be as little or nothing and as much as 12 fps.

I went around and measured all my large single cams and dual cam bows. The first speed nock is right at 4 1/8" from the bottom axle. Additional nocks go up the string. Most have 2 speed nocks (brass string nocks) and covered with shrink tubes. One single cam bow has 3 speed nocks as a 4th and 5th didn't make a difference and began to tetter on giving a slightly slower speed. My wheel bows and a Command Cam bow do not have speed nocks as they proved useless - these cams are small.

When trying speed nocks it's a trial and error thing. When chronographing have it set where it won't be moved until done and make a mark on the floor for foot placement - same distance from chronograph each and every time. Understand, the arrow begins losing speed as soon as it leaves the string. Normal distance from the face of a chronograph is given as one arrow length from the tip of the arrow or that the arrow is clear of the bow before crossing the first sensor.

try 3 nocks 2 1/2" away from where the string leaves the cam. You should be pretty close on location and within 1 nock either way of what will work best. The string sleeves are very nics as well. You can slide them easily and they work well.
