    Default Ouch!!

My right shoulder hurts deep when I bring my arm up horizontal. Deer season is over. I have not shot in 3 weeks hoping it would get better. I have been trying to take it easy but there is still a dull pain. Sometimes it is sharp like when I carried a bag of corn the other day or when I used loppers to trim the hedges. If i am going to have something done I guess now is the time. Any thoughts?

See a doctor as soon as possible. I was in a similar situation several years ago and simple exercises suggested by my doctor put me right again.

First, get your butt to a doctor.... Just might save you some agony later on... Don't be bullheaded!

How old are you? What draw weight do you have?

I suffered from two shoulder injuries. One, I had a bone chip that just sort of floated around and didn't disolve as the doctors thought. It got caught and locked up my arm. So it got sonic crushed and no more problems.

Two or going on 3 years ago thought was a tore a rotor cuff. It hurt! To the doctor immediately and doc gave that I may have a slight tear. To the surgeon and no surgery, but deep shot of something to aid healing and a bit of time off, month. I eased back into shooting and other than a slight "hump" I was good. The "hump" went away and I'm shooting probably 300 arrows per week.

In my younger days, say in my 50s, I used 62 pounds for 3D and 67 pounds for hunting. Yep, I could pull 70 pounds of draw weight easily and never did. Never needed it.
??? Two years ago I dropped my hunting bow to 62 pounds and killed deer just like when I had it at 67 pounds.

My target bows with proper arrows don't need 62 pounds to get to ASA's speed limit. I have both my Shadowcat and MarXman set to 56 pounds and can shoot day in and day out if I wish to..... However, I don't shoot until I'm tired. This leads to poor shooting and possibly forcing a injury and at my age I don't need any more injuries.

I am 39. Shoot 59lbs. I cannot lower the draw weight below 55. (New bow?) My wife is having surgery this week so I will need to wait. What kind of doctor do I need to go see. If I go to my regular doc he will want me to go to rehab therapy.

Yes please have it checked out ASAP. No matter what the problem may be treatment sooner is always better then later. If your insurance is like mine you will need your primary care doctor to refer you to a specialist if needed.

I serious doubt this. This could be crippling injury, just in the waiting of time to complete. Your doctor doesn't need that kind of court room publicity.

Sshhh, don't tell anyone, but I use a Titan HLX when it is to cold to draw a bow (not to often down here). Anyway, so I can just see a doctor w/ out a reference. So, what kind do I see.
