Default Hutch, Sonny, any opinions that agree with me....http://martinarchery.com/mtechforum/

My fancy new Cougar shootin' stick (Furty XT cam) had the cam module come loose and ate the serving on the cable before I caught it; in a VERY few shots. Would BCY 62, .021 be good enough to re-serve it with, beings that's what I have? Any idea how long the serving is supposed to be, beings I took it off before I thought to measure; not even the sharpest of field points..... The cable, itself, looks undamaged. Hate buying a brand new cable; it IS a brand new cable. Thanks

And, I know the cam screws should be loc tited, but I plan to have to reset them as I bring my poundage up. I'll keep a sharper eye on them in the future. Sonny, the 'Insert Iron' is dry and I'm up to a full dozen arrows now!

    Thanks, o

My buddy TEN RING is right on! 62 or 62xs is too big and too coarse material and is going to be to big for the grooves. Normal serving for end is .014 or .017 and .017 is sometimes pushing the limit on some cams. Get on ebay and buy a roll of 3d it should do the trick

1 - check the cable closely. Normally you can see where the serving was and ended.
2 - HammerHead strings? If so, .021" will work, but will indeed effect speed. I've went through this, lost about 5 feet per second, but then I did both cable ends to make all the same.

Forgetful me has not called Martin to find out for sure what size and type.

Was gonna go with Sonny (yeah, Hammer Head strings) and try the 62 but evidently my server is with my bow scale, wherever that is. Read around a bit and ordered a Bear Paw jig; good, bad, indifferent? Too late now! Going to have as much in server and thread as a new cable, but then I'll have them.

Ok, will get BCY 3D serving, .014. Did I read somewhere that the white thread turns transparent when served and waxed? Also, should servings even be waxed? Have read both ways on that, too. Maybe Hutch has a string care link that covers that?

Thanks for the help, guys, and 'hi' to Hutch and Ten Ring; first I've met you on here, though sure seems like I already know Hutch from all his posts I've read! lol

    Thanks, o

Been using Bear paws for a long time no issues here. 3d white .017 is the one that turns clear if you serve it tight. I don't wax servings generally because wax is sticky and it slows down movement and lets dirt stick in the grooves of the cams.

oi, so do I want .014 or .017?

Gezzz, all I find on Ebay list size as .016 or don't list the size!

What is 'Halo'; better, worse, too pricey for what it is? Can find it in .014.

Halo in .014 is what you would use if you want white (clear) and it needs to be tight to turn clear and yes it is pricey.
3d in .017 in white (clear) is less pricey.
