    Default NY Turkey

Took this jake yesterday with my 10 year old Martin Altitude, shot was close and I got it on video with a bow mounetd camera. The two jakes went by, then only decided to come in after one of the two hens they were with wanted to check out my DSD hen decoy. The first jake had a short stubby beard; I took the second, larger one that came running in after the first jake tried to mount the deke.

Nice Capt., how's the black flies up there? I'm headed up for a rafting trip this weekend.

Thanks Andy. I'm hearing mixed reports on the black flies, it has been dry which limits where they can breed and keeps their numbers down. They never get too bad around here; misquitoes were starting to show but a couple colnights stooped that. What river are you going down?

Nice looking bird! He definitely looks like the dominant male there. He looks pretty close to being a young mature bird. I couldn't tell how close his fan was to being even all the way around. Congrats!!!
