Default onza 3 is slowing down

I ran an arrow thru the chrony the other day my arrows slowed down 6 fps checked every thing all specs right on, so last nite I made a new string I went with 10 strands of 450+ this will give this bow a kick start run it thru chrony today loss 5 more fps I was sure I was going to gain the 6 back plus another 6 plus

Right off I'd say go back the other string and sort out things.

First, the chronograph and distance, one arrow length from face of chronograph. This lets the arrow clear the bow, but not so far back that speed is effected. So always the same distance and always the same weight arrow. Also look for high voltage around the chronograph.

6 fps loss is a big drop. Most I've seen between chronographs is about 2 fps.

All dimensions checked, then draw weight should be checked.

To lose another 6 fps with a less strands one has to look at strand diameter, .019". 452X is .013". So thickness of bow string and then depending the serving material perhaps even more thickness and then groove congestion.

I R the unwanted child when it comes to today's factory strings. I won't change out new factory strings unless someone wants to give a set of strings for free to try. Yep, free and I'll try them. Years back factory strings were horrible. Today they are hard to beat.

I remember 2008 and Martin strings were said the worst in the industry. Got news for you. I know people with 2008 Martin bows with original strings! Yes! I ain't saying they were perfect, but that some strings take longer break in, perhaps a 1000 shots. Eric, Bob, Frank, and Chris still have original 2008 strings. If I remembe right and was told right, Martin had two strings makers, one for Gold Series and one for Pro Series. If so, Eric and Bob (Bengals) have Gold Series strings and Frank (Firecat) and Chris (Slayer) have Pro Series strings.

Though I had to do some string adjustment and reserve areas right off the bat my 2011 Shadowcat still has the original HammerHead strings and looking good, no stretch, no peep issues.
