    Default Multi pin sights

I am toying with the idea of buying a new sight for my bow and I have always shot a pendulum. For you guys that use 3 and 5 pin sights what yardage a do you set your pins for? Is the norm 20,30,40 etc.?

For myself, I like to use the odd yardages so my 5 pin sights are set 15, 25, 35, 45, 55.
I have one bow with a 3 pin sight, that one is set 15, 30, 45.
I think most use the 20, 30, 40 etc system although I have seen some use really weird (to me) distances.

The 3 pin with 15 yds gaps should have most situations covered. I'm a slider guy, can estimate any thing under 30 yds close enough, and over that, I use a rangefinder.

My self five pin Archery Exterm Primal, yardage set at 30, 40 50, 60 & 75. Here in the South West you need to be able to shoot out about 80 yards.

I set mine at 25,35,45,55,65. I used to do the 20,30 route, but there's no significant change from 20-25, so it gives me a few more yards for longer shots starting at 25. Never shot over 30 yards on a deer, but I'll take a crack at a coyote out to 70+ if it's standing still. With a slider, I leave it set at 25 yards for stand hunting, and range anything over 35 yards. Have recently started changing back to multi pin sights from my sliders.

    How is accuracy from 0-25?

I have 5 pins in both sights, and I set them for the usual 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60.

LB, Moving in from 25, but still using that pin, I'll shoot at most couple inches high (1-2) at 10 yards. For hunting purposes, that's good enough for me. The way I set my nock height is to shoot at a horizontal tape mark at 10 yards, and make sure I'm hitting it. Then move back to 20, and make sure I'm hitting the tape. I use electrical tape, so roughly 3/4 inch wide. Figure maybe another 1/2 drop from 20 out to 25.

    I use a 3 pin Copper John sight at 20,35,50. I didn't find a big drop from 20 to 30 so I moved it out to 35.
