Default 2013 Bengal: cable slide is fraying the string

I have shot about 50 arrows and I noticed a creaking, I found that the string is cutting a groove into the cable slide which is also fraying the string. I assume now I will need a new string on what is ultimately a new
bow. Any advice out there on how to fix this problem?

saunders hyper-glide, solve the slide and the string wear. Take a pic of the problem spot on the string and cable and lets see how bad it is.

As my daughter above stated. Great slide and let us take a look at your string wear and see how it is.

Thanks, I will give it a try. I think I caught it early enough to save the string.

Just got a Saunders Hyper-Glide myself, and so far I can say that it's the best cable slide I've had.

First; glad to have your forums up and running again. Enjoying having your posts back to enjoy.

What causes this problem; fraying caused, evidently, from the cable slides; bad slides from Martin, miss timing of bow, whatever? Seems too common, including mine. A.S. the Saunders give plenty of fletching clearance; more or less than the Martin original?

    Thanks; o

AS, you can replace the little round rubber ring on the slide by going to Home Depot and or ACE. About 10cents.

I believe I have about the same clearance as before, however that's from memory. I'd have to put the old slide back on to tell for sure.

If I have a bow with a rod/slide. A Saunders is the first thing that goes on the bow. Literally before, sight, rest, stab ... anything.
