Default cougar magnum cable guard needed

hi; i picked up a right hand cougar magnum at a pawn shop. it has no cable guard. does anyone have one for sale or know where i should be looking? also, are these considered a good model bow? it actually shoots pretty good despite the fletching hitting the cables. thanks.

Yes, I'm rebuilding a Cougar III for my grandson, both my son and I have 04 Cougar III Elites. Here's a pic of mine, note that it also does not have a cable guard. It is rigged with the X system, arrow travels through those 4 cables.

how important is it to have a cable guard? i took a look thru the string/cables/arrow rest path, and noticed the cables are further away from the fletching than the edge of the arrow rest is. are there pro's and con's to a cable guard?

if your bow is designed to have one it helps the cable run in the cam groove better and gives ya more vane clearence unless its a shoot thru system you will need it
