Default Two More Turkeys With My Martin Recurve...

...And I'm tagged out in Western Nebraska with three nice toms. The turkeys left the farm I was hunting, so I headed up to the Pine Ridge, part of the Nebraska National. Found out where they were roosting and eventually figured out the right spot to set up; got one yesterday evening at sundown and another, the nicest one of the trip, early this morning.

    Today's bird:

Yesterday's, not the best pic as I had to wait till dark to head out so I wouldn't spook the birds and hunt them again today:

Dropped him on the spot, the 150 grain Snuffers do some damage:

Congrats Capt! I'd say you've shot a few this year.

8.5" beard and 3/4" rounded off spurs, heard the Merriam's have spurs like that. The Easterns I get in the mountains back home have the same worn down spurs from scratching in all the granite rocks.

Thanks guys, it was a great hunt.

Here's some pics from my trip to the Black Hills, went through Wind Cave National Park, Custer State Park and the Black Hills National Forest; saw all kinds of wildlife plus Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse monument (under construction, will take decades).
