Default Drew my mule deer tag so jacked

Well I drew my mule deer tag that I have been tryin to draw for the last 8 years Im so freakin jacked its ridicolous the tag I drew is for an area they only put out 50 mule deer buck tags and around a 1000 people put in for it.The last time I had this tag I shot my biggest mule deer todate and since then they have dropped the tags from 100 to 50 to make a trophy area and that it is every time I elk hunt there I see giant muleys. I probaly wont see much of early bow season this year due to work so will probaly break out Irene my 30-06 to get the job done. This is the last buck I shot in this area 9 years ago and since then it has gotten even better.

I'm a diehard Blacktail hunter, until I get a chance to hunt Mulies, love those big brutes and the the way they "sproing" away after being spooked, until they top that distant rise, and stop to look back. Son and I found a great camp site over in eastern Oregon and want to apply for the draw rifle hunt over there, a November hunt. We were over there in 2007 on a draw Elk hunt and saw 60-80 Mule Deer a day, some monster bucks! Here in Oregon, if drawn, that will be the only deer hunt for me that year, can't bowhunt and rifle hunt.

Congrats GB. Hope you get another nice one to add to the wall. Been thinking about heading out to western Ks this fall for a shot at a muley. Got alot of family out there with alot of ground. Never hunted deer out there though.

Great! I do not know much about them. Are they bigger than whitetails? I know their racks sure are impressive. Western hunting is on my bucket list!

Here the bodies of mule deer r bigger although Ive seen some whitetails with impressive size bodies. They r a little harder to find due to rugged terrain they live in and they like to roam around unlike whitetail that r patternable. But it should be fun might see a bull elk while out hunting although I was thinkn of putn in for a cow tag same area so I could fill the freezer. Cant wait for November
