    Default Washington predators

These were taken in Simon's (Double S) back yard, the Colville Indian Reservation. I can understand all the Wolves together but have never seen 9 Cougar together. I don't know the setting (bait, winter kill, or pack kill) or exact location. My guess would be Keller or Inchelium areas. The Moose, Elk, and deer population are suffering big time from what I hear.

Cool pics, but unfortunate too hear the populations are suffering.

Not hard to see why the game population is hurting. All these guys need a lot of meat to survive.

Yes, but it could still be an infrared flash as it does the same thing as a normal light flash.

Then if was an infrared flash, how is it that all of the wolves are looking at the camera, including the 2nd from the right, who is quite a ways back from the camera? Eerie! It was my understanding the the object of the infarared flash was not to spook or otherwise alert game that their picture was being taken, but can wolves see infarared?
Marty.. tell us about the camera, please?

Depending on the camera, the flash may still give off some light, hence the "low glow" term used in camera specs. Some are completely undetectable however.

The IR cameras glow red when taking a picture plus they do make noise when taking the picture.
Covert has black face cameras so you do not see the IR glow, I just sold a bunch to the boarder patrol
guys in Yuma Arizona. Not sure why they are just letting anyone cross the boarder right now anyway.
