    Default Martin Panther

How many of you are shooting a Panther or Diablo and are using it for hunting...

I have been really impressed with my bow.

I have a Panther. I have only been shooting 3d with it up to this point. My only gripe with the bow so far is the stock string stretches too fast, and the rest is a bit sketchy. Nothing that can't be remedied easily though. It's also a great conversation piece at the range. Those that I've let shoot it are also impressed with it.

My grandson has a Diablo and plans to hunt with it this fall, he has 45# limbs, and draws to 30". Replace the factory string, the limbs are fast flight compatible, most archers report an increase in speed with a fast flight string. I think that it's a lot of bow for the $, smooth, stable and qiuck, with a good string!

I'm here. I had much the same results with the stock string. Stretched like a rubber band, but forgot to shorten back up. It was too long to start with and I had to add 45 twists to get the brace height correct. Shot it for a week and had to add 15 more to get it right again. That's when I got Hutch to make me one from Trophy. Mind you, I had only 30# limbs and changing to Trophy gained it 24 fps at about a 25" draw. The result was quite evident.

I did get 35# limbs later last year and haven't bothered chronographing the bow. The only mishap I've had since is that I dropped the bow on concrete and knocked off one of the limb tip reinforcements. Well, I guess I could have yelled "WARRANTY", but being the way I am I just got out the old Gorilla glue and put it back on, sanded some of the sharp corners and been shooting it since. Why bug Nelson for my stupidity.

See? Fast flight compatable, even with super glue.
